THERE IS STILL HOPE
I made a late presentatation at a bank this evening to a group of young Nigerian professioanl bankers and left the venue feeling good. They were courteous, brilliant and very professional. Where they werent too sure they yielded position to our team.
After the meeting, I ruminated on everything and concluded that perhaps we shouldnt despair too much. While it is true water isnt always running, and electricity is touch and go, and roads are often filthy etc, there is a strong will within serious Nigerians to make things work. It really would be fantastic if this group found an avenue for expression.
I see a time in the future when discontent will compel this category of Nigerians into service and I think the time isnt too far. They will be bringing in lots of integrity, commitment and freshness into service and governance.

Great work, good thinking. I will add that each opportunity we have to speak or make presentations like the one you had, we should teach, encourage and spur Nigerians to always speak positively about this nation even in the face of the 'wahalas'. I like your courage. Thank you and keep it up.
I join my faith with yours & believe "there is still hope".
I read Azuka's comment on Tuesday and conclude she must be dead to this nation, quite sad. Where there is life Azuka, there is hope.
I enjoy reading from you.
thanx
I agree with you that we shouldn't give up on this country yet. But I must confess that some of us are already getting frustrated over the way they're running the affairs of this country. Even if credible people want to run for elective offices, with all these assassin cases, etc, how will they get there? What else can we do to help this country? It seems that the more we pray, the worse things become. Only God can help us! But when would He come to our aid? I pray that our generation will witness it when the Lord eventually turns around the captivity of our "Zion".

Hi all, I am so excited we are all full of hope for this great nation; this is what will see us through as God unfolds His plans. Please dont stop sending the comments.
Hi Tope, I believe that where there is life there is hope. but also remember and understand, that "FAITH is the SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR.. (hebs 11.1)". Take for instance, the lives we have to be that substance, then we must address the issue and ask ourselves what is THE SUBSTANCE (our lives) MADE OF? its not just about our individual lives. its about the lives of millions. the lives of the youth. what are we feeding our lives? I strongly believe we need to address the matter from the roots before we can see a change in this nation. When a life has a sound vision then there is HOPE
It is sad that for a country that had so much hope at independence, we have become so cynical and pessimistic. However, it really doen't take the majority to change things. A determined minority can do it. We are where we are because a determined minority who are selfish and not God fearing have put us there. I am convinced that if we believe in nationhood and work hard, and think of the larger picture of God's creation and not only ourselves, this country will be great. "Service is the rent we pay for the PRIVILEDGE of being here on earth". We should all do more serving than wanting to be served.
It is a pity that for a country that showed so muc prospect of gratness at independence we are now so cynical and pessimistic. However there is indeed hope because we only need a determined minority to change things for the better. It is a determined selfish minority that has gotten us to where we are. Selfishness & greed has brought about such unbelieveable levels of curruption that the vast majority live in want. A determined minority that believe in service and justice can be a catalyst to propel us in the right direction. "Service is the RENT we pay for the PRIVILEDGE of being here in this world". Let us all serve and not be masters and we will see a transformation in our nation. Jesus, even though He was the son of God, came to serve and not be our "oga" and see what a difference he made.
People are not remembered for what they owned, they are remembered for the impact they had on the world, whether good, or bad.
Hi Toju. I concur
