I had a very good day today. First the traffic was good because of the holiday the government declared so people could register for the elections. Its a shame there's so much apathy attached to this "selection". Which is what this government is missing: few peple now have faith in the government's ability to prosecute a fair election, and so no one is really interested in registering. So much distrust in the air.
God will have to help me. I should be so full of hope for this country especially because I pray for the nation, but sometimes the things one sees robs one of the hope. Sometimes its like the harder we pray the worse the situation becomes: uncaring governments, stealing and all kinds of brigandage, irresponsible behaviour by the governed and the governors, filth everywhere, power and water failure, social misbehaviour etc.
And yet we can't give up. Hope must be kept alive for a better greater tomorrow.

it seems like you had a pretty day the day you wrote this.I must confess that its truly a touching one......and gosh, you write so well.kunbi
hope is sustained when we never give up on what we believe.nice job.kunbi
A public holiday declared just so that the masses can register for the forth coming "already determined" elections!!! wow!!! its amazing how in the 21st century some countries are so ahead while others still grope in the dark.
I can understand how you feel about the depressing state of our once not so great economy. Trust me,you are not allow in this . However, what interests me most in your write-up is the subject of HOPE. What exactly are we hoping for? Are we hoping for a better economy where the masses have a voice, where there is constant power supply or are we hoping for an economy that is purged of corruption and greed? Did I hear you say yes? hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! forgive me. It is not my intention to make thrival the state of our nation.
I like the way you concluded your thoughts, "And yet we can't give up. Hope must be kept alive for a better greater tomorrow."
Very inspiring. I once talked like that and even prayed like that. Until one day, a voice asked me this question.
what is your faith? Is our faith in the unruly youth of our nation? or the wasting manpower flooding our roads selling purewater and cds? Or maybe our faith lies in the educational system that encourages all forms of examination malpractices. or does it trust in our rapidly disintergrating family unit, where the children have become parents and the "parents" mere ceremonial figures!!! I think the question we should be adressing is, where does our faith lie? Until we address this and get our priorities straight; I am sorry, HOPE might be long dead before it was even conceived.
forgive me if my earlier views on this subject matter sounded cynical in any way. I believe that I aired the views of some. Dont get me wrong, I equally feel saddened by the hopeless state of our economy. What I am simply saying and trying to make others see is, if we must keep hope alive, we must all work together. we must in everyway; no matter how little encourage and support others towards a better way of life. Hope can only come alive when we all work together. when the rich (be it material, moral or spiritual richness) can begin to give to others and invest in the future of this country. Our Hope lies in the Youth of this nation, our Hope lies in the way we treat our neighbours, our hope lies in what the other man believes to be tolerance and respect for others, our Hope lies in us.
Hi Azuka. Saw your comment and I have posted it. I thought you sounded pretty cynical though. Simply click on the comments and you can read any of them. How are you?
